P. Matthew Darby
Matt is a principle partner of Berman, Sobin, Gross, Feldman & Darby LLP. He received his B.A. Degree from Loyola College in Baltimore and his Juris Doctorial Degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1988, where he served on the Maryland Journal of International Law and Trade and the Moot Court Board. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and has handled personal injuries matters in numerous other States. Matt was the founding Chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Maryland Trial Lawyer’s Association and also served on the Board of Directors. He is a Member of the Workers’ Compensation and Insurance Oversight Committee of the Maryland Legislature and the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Medical Fee Guide Committee.
He is Designated Legal Counsel for the United Transportation Union and the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. In addition to handling serious personal injury related matters in numerous jurisdictions, he also represents injured employees under the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Act, the Federal Employers Liability Act (see representative FELA cases Matt has litigated), the Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act. He has also lectured to various organizations in these areas of law. He has handled various personal injury matters in Maryland, Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, Virginia, Massachusetts, Maine, Florida and Texas.
