On April 13, 2010 a net verdict of approximately 1.25 Million Dollars was obtained against CSXT on behalf of a Locomotive Engineer. Although classified as a Locomotive Engineer, the Plaintiff spent a significant part of his early employment working jobs that required significant walking, throwing of railroad switches, coupling of air hoses and climbing cars. It was only for the approximately last 10 years that the employee engaged in full time traditional locomotive engineer duties. The Plaintiff had bilateral arthroscopic knee surgeries and has been receiving ongoing visco supplementation of the knees. Medical testimony was presented indicating that the Plaintiff will have a shortened work life as the result of his knee condition.Craig Meyers Obtains Another Jury Verdict in Excess of the Last Settlement Offer!
Craig Meyers recently obtained a $72,500 jury verdict for his client before a jury in Montgomery County. This case involved a motorcycle accident with low property damage. The client suffered from rotator cuff tendonitis but did not have a tear and did not have surgery. This is an especially significant win considering the conservative nature of the Montgomery County Circuit Court. A Montgomery County jury recently awarded $136,000 to Craig’s client. This case involved a contested motor vehicle accident. The client had a significant pre-existing condition, which was exacerbated by the motor vehicle accident. The jury found that there was a subtle change to the client’s spine, which caused the pre-existing pain in the client’s neck to spread down a nerve to the client’s arm and into his hand. The insurance company’s last offer of settlement was $7,800.
